The Johnson County Welcome Center,
welcomes hundreds of visitors to our fair county each month, where these same
visitors are greeted with true “southern hospitality”, by the center’s director,
“Mrs. Karen”. At the Welcome Center, you will find a plethora of information on
‘things to do in our area’, ‘places to shop’, ‘places to eat’, and ‘places to
stay’,’ along with information on available real estate (many that now call
Johnson County ‘home’, are previous ‘visitors’, that fell in love with our area,
and never wanted to leave!) When you visit the Welcome Center, you can also
learn about the history of Johnson County and how people lived back in the ‘old
days’, by spending some time in our fabulous museum, that is housed within the
Welcome Center. The Welcome Center is housed in a beautiful log cabin structure,
that pops with color from the beautiful flowers that adorn the outside during
the spring and summer months, and you will always find visitors ‘sitting a
spell’ while rocking on the front porch, enjoying the views. During the fall and
winter months, you can find visitors gathered around the large roaring
fireplace, sipping hot chocolate or coffee. The Johnson County Welcome Center is
an inviting and wonderful place to visit, and it never disappoints, as repeat
visitors can be seen stopping in year after year.

*We also invite you to come and stay
at our beautiful campground, located behind the Welcome Center, where there are
fourteen (14) sites to choose from. This quite and serene setting, complete with
electric, water, sewer, and an available bathhouse, is the perfect place for
outdoor enthusiast to stay. These camp sites can accommodate both ‘tent camping’
and ‘RV’s', so what are you waiting for (?), call Karen today at (423)727-5800,
or you can email Karen at johnsoncountywelcomecenter@centurylink.net
to make your reservations-and remember to make your reservations early for the
Bristol Motor Speedway Races, as these sites go fast during ‘race week’!
